Another Webley question - nickel finish?

Does anyone know if Webley made any Mark VI revolvers with a nickel finish? I am considering buying one that looks to be nickel. There is no sign of old blueing whatsoever. So, either it was removed manually, or it was manufactured that way. Anyone know for sure?

I would take a look at the lettering on the gun. If the gun is nickel, but the lettering is not nickel (it contrasts with the finish), then it is likely original plating. I would think if you plated a gun after the stamping was done, even the stamped lettering would have nickel in it.
 
The service MkVIs were not nickel plated and if it is it was done post srevice. Webley like other makers offered nickeled commercial pistols.
 
If the Webely has Military Markings on it or War time dates, then it is a post war bubba job. They never had nickle plating for war pieces. They were all a high quality blued finish.

I have had mkVIs that were produced during the frantic hieght of the great war and they were all finished very very well. Many of the 38s of WWII fame sported the "war finish" stamp.
There is a nickle mkvi bubba job on Auction Arms right now.

I agree. Great War era revolvers (.455 Mk VI) were excellent when compared to the War Finish of WW2.
