There is a story I've heard from about 20 different people and I would like to know if anyone else has heard anything like this.

It seems that there used to be a tracked vehicle of some sort in my town during the late 30's and 40's! This vehicle was supposedly mounted with a "machine gun with a mag sticking up from the top" and the guy who owned it was tasked with shooting down any Japanese aircraft that flew over head. The gun was supposedly government issued along with the vehicle.

Up until the late 60's and 70's the vehicle was in the town parade (missing the machine gun of course) and then just up and disappeared.

Now a few members of the town still believe this vehicle is around and just hidden in some old shed long forgotten.

So what might the vehicle be? The "machine gun" sounds like a BREN or something along those lines.

Once again this is a rumor which can't be 100% confirmed until this weird vehicle turns up if ever.

well that would be a blast to find but if it has been sitting for 30-40 years I don't expect it would be in too good of shape.

A few of my uncle's friends THINK they MIGHT know where it sits so on their next time off Im going to talk them into helping me look! :D

Sounds like a neat treasure hunt, start with your local legion and see if any of the old boys have any leads. Keep us posted. :)

No such thing as a legion, just a store/gas station, a pub, and a post office. :D

There is a hull of one in Clinton

Yeah I used to drive past that one every day and last I looked at it (if the same one) it was the base of a BREN carrier with a plywood body on top.

I have thought about buying it, the guy has the motor and rad as well, but wanted $2,000 for it, to much. I don't think that shop actually ever sold anything. The other antique shop has a Mk 19 radio set.

Yes, that's what happened. I innitially thought it was a joke or sumpin.
I didn't think of that as a name of location.

You're not the first one! :D

Hell I actually had someone take a package for me into their post office and they told them my town (and postal code) didn't exist!

I have yet to see someone walking out of that place with something they bought! Most of the stuff is WAY overpriced but it's been a year or more since I went through Clinton now.

Makes me wonder though if it's the BREN carrier from out here though. Can't be too many of them floating around in BC.....

NAA.

Many legal AND illegal things hidden way out here! The "sniper rifle" I personally don't believe is true BUT this BREN carrier I do believe since so many people swearing seeing it back in the 60's and 70's.

The stolen RCMP shotgun, that one I've heard from many people but never seen any proof NOR DO I WANT TO! :D

I also know where all three grow ops are hidden away but the RCMP don't want to hear about those....

Well Likely is a thriving metropolis compared to Manson Landing, although Horsefly is a nice place and I have cousins in Beaver Valley near Big Lake

Likely, hydraulic and Morehead were all heavily associated with the goldrush in the area.

If you like interesting things drop by the Ft Nelson Museum when your in the area.
