Anschütz vs cooper

Where did you buy your mounts and which Leupold scope is shown. I have a 1712 that needs some glass ( old eyes )
Mounts came straight from S&K. I like them for the aesthetics, but also because they are windage adjustable. The scope is a Leupold VX-III 4.5-14x40 AO. Strictly speaking, the scope is something of a compromise. I wanted parallax adjustment and a decent top end on the magnification, but the scope is a little too large to look perfect on a rimfire rifle, with its 2.0" objective bell OD. I have a Leupold 3-9x33 EFR scope that looks better on the gun, but has less top end than I wanted.

Thankyou very much. I already have a 3-9x33 EFR,bought during the great rush before they disappeared. I haven’t seen any test results on it’s replacement yet other than it’s even larger.

I don't think Leupold has replaced the 3-9x33 EFR at this point. The closest new thing seems to be the VX-Freedom Rimfire 2-7x33, but it lacks parallax adjustment and would, I suspect, be parallax-set at 50 yards. Here’s some info on it from the Rimfire Central forum:

I mounted a Kahles 3-9×42 on my Cooper sporter. It is clear, bright, and fairly light, and it has a side adjustment for parallax. I paid around $600 for the scope, which I much prefer to the Leupold 3-9x33EFR.

The EFR scopes are not listed on their website(leupold),at least I can’t find them.

They have not replaced them, as in they are discontinued and there is no comparable scope in the lineup. The VX Freedom has no AO and costs half what the EFR did, it's not a replacement IMO.

I messaged Leupold last week asking about my long-ordered VX3i EFR, this was the reply..

""We have had a number of developments for this year. I don't expect to see more EFR's till mid Summer.

Best Regards,""

While patience is a virtue (apparently), discontinuing several entire lines of optics before the replacements are available doesn't strike me as a sound business practice.
I can only hope he was referring to the VX-Freedom scopes that will maybe feature EFR, and not the VX3i.

There was nothing at the shot show with EFR where they showcased their Freedom models

Poor lighting, but this is my custom Cooper.
