The user manual can be found in the downloads section of the Anchutz site, Glenn and they give clear instructions on how to swap barrels and calibres. The front barrel tensioning screw on this rifle was slightly loose so I re-torqued both as per the manual.
I'm finding the 22LR magazines fiddley to load and also not easy to insert a mag. into the housing - Hopefully, I'll work out a technique when I live fire it.
Based on my experience with true match chambers and many Anschutz sporters, I think they may have tweaked the chamber specs. on these guns. There's a picture of some Center X rounds which I used to test feed etc. Lapua rounds chamber as if being cammed into a match chamber and the bullets are clearly engraved by the rifling. There appears to be zero bullet deformation when loading which is good.
5061 trigger arrived breaking at 52 ozs. with a fair amount of pre travel. It adjusted down to 28 ozs. with the original spring and careful sear adjustment.
Stock inletting is very precise and the flat bottomed action is rock solid when installed - Doesn't matter what sequence used to torque the action screws, there's no discernible barrel movement at the fore end tip and it is fully floating. It would be a fairly straight forward procedure to pillar & epoxy bed these actions but I doubt that would be necessary.
Best part??? This gun is unquestionably the best ejecting Anschutz sporter I've used. Empty cases consistently go out at a low angle at approx. 2.00 o'clock - Would easily clear any scope mounting option and this rifle will pull a live round every time - The improved extractor design appears to be a winner.
Hopefully, I can get it to the range for an initial test this week. The test target is uninspiring but IME, test targets are mainly for function testing and are about irrelevant when it comes to potential accuracy.
