I was visiting a friend the other day and he was showing me his Anschutz .22. Lovely bolt action rifle, heavy as a centre fire rifle.

He took the bolt apart and inadvertently shot a tiny piece of it off across his garage like a BB out of an air rifle. It hit a wall and bounced somewhere among oil cans, old car parts and a huge tray of sockets. I think it was some kind of retaining ring or collar holding the firing pin spring in place. We couldn't find it it.

I don't know the rifle model number, but he does of course.

Where could he find a replacement for the missing part?

NordicMarksman maybe able to assist ....
Western Gun Parts are an option, make model and serial number will required.
If you guys can find the schematic and find the actual part it will speed up the process for sure.

Thanks Rob,

I like doing that kind of research. I'll have to get those details off him for the search.

What happened was that we were just sitting around over drinks at his garage as we do every Thursday's Happy Hour there, and he said seeing as hunting season was over, he should get his guns out of his truck. I asked what he had there, a rifle, shotgun and .22? No, he said, his 7mm Mag., a 30-30 Marlin and the .22. Then he decided to show it to me and then disassembled the bolt.

What model anschutz?

Find the Model Number first. Use that you run an Image Search online, to find the parts diagram, then contact Nordic. Likely to cost as much or more, for postage! Buy two! With a spare, you will never need it!

In the words of a good, old friend, excrement eventuates!

Buddy found the missing part.

Excellent!

Been there, done that!

Have resorted to sweeping the whole area with a magnetic strip (magnetic whiteboard strip), to recover screws that went "Ping" off into the yonder, before I figured out the false economy of cheap Tweezers in Watch Repair!

In the garage, have had to resort to a massive 'clean-up', as a means toward finding what went rattling off in the general area!

There is much value in having as little background noise as possible, as the sound of the flying part landing, may be the best chance you have of a speedy recovery!
