I was wondering which Anschutz .22 rifles were made with the .22LR length receiver? I know the model 54 was made with the .22LR length receiver, but they are not produced anymore as far as I can tell. I'm particularly interested in repeater models, not the target single shots.

How many do you want? They are very much available along with the 64 actions. The only thing that I don't think is available is the 54 action in a repeater, single feed only, but I have been wrong before.

54's are still current. 1710,1712,1907 to name a few. Offered as a repeater in the sporting lines.

Agree here, the wing safety 54s AFAIK are finished but the current series 54 sporters share the same receiver as the current target rifles with the receiver mounted safety and ratcheting cap on the bolt shroud.

And if you get real lucky, there are still a few Model 54 Match Repeaters, such as the 1907R around, if you can convince someone to sell you theirs.

To be clear. A 54 action in a sporter like a 1710 is not equivalent to a 54 match action repeater like in a 54.18 or 1907r. You can still buy sporter repeaters, but not match repeaters. They are out of stock and I don't believe are making any more as they were poor sellers, and not superb performers. Well they were good but not as good as the single shots.

dizzy
Why could a current(receiver mounted safety) series 54 sporter repeater not be the equal of a 54.18MSR or 1907R ? The only difference I see might be the 5018 trigger and the barrel config.

Shorty
That's right - the 54.18MS & MSR have heavy barrels. Not quite as heavy as a free rifle but have no taper.
Are you shooting Sunday July 7th ?

It could, but I am led to believe a match action and sporter action are not equal and a match barrel has a slightly tighter chamber than a sporter barrel of similar profile. If you had a match receiver and match chamber on a sporter rifle then accuracy should be equal to match rifle.. 54 action does not mean match. I once thought it did, but no longer do having had many of both I will take the match all day everyday.

I wish I was shooting on Sunday. But the combination of no ammo and a friend in from Taiwan makes that a no, unfortunately.

Match 64 to a normal 54 action.
Witch one should be the better performer?

I am sure that qualities or attributes of a 64 may make it a better performer than a 54. There are some very accurate 64s - match and sporter.
The 54 actions, because of various qualities, are acknowledged as being superior , and are. One has to remember one of the biggest variables with any rimfire is the ammunition and how it works in the individual firearm.
What you're asking is whether a crippled lion could kill a 3-legged tiger !?
