Anschutz 64 Bolt Reassembly

Have been trying to figure this out all night... finally got the bolt back together after I took it apart for a cleaning. But it appears to work but doesn't even mark an empty shell. The firing pin just appears to be flopping around in there. Any ideas?

If I remember correctly, the firing pin must be assembled to the rear of the bolt prior to reassembly.

Which model bolt do you have? The new style with the small spring for the firing pin?

It is an older style bolt that only has 2 springs in it... the main (large) firing pin spring and the very small spring for the pilot between the 2 bolt pieces.

Okay, I thought I had it figured out... reassembled this time putting the cocking knob on last. But it's still doing the same thing, no strikes on the shell. And the firing pin is flopping around when the bolt is cocked. There must be something else I am doing wrong.

I think I might see the problem. The cross pin holding the cocking knob has become rounded by taking it out too many times and isn't sitting flush anymore, might be impeding the striking. I am going to try and get it even again and see if it works.
