So a rifle I ordered some time ago, an Anschutz 64 MP R Multi Purpose in .22 LR. finally arrived but the new to me and rather strange gun store I got it through did not order the 2 spare 5 round magazines I asked them to; they developed some minor amnesia about the agreed-upon price too, but I was too happy to get it to just walk away. (I did learn not to do business with them of course.)

Looking around the internet, I'm not finding anyone offering said 5 round magazines so perhaps the company in Austria doesn't have them either, but does anyone have suggestions as to where I should look? Damned if I want to shoot .22 on targets with just one little 5 R mag but more importantly spares are good things to have as this is to my mind a heritage rifle to be passed down and stuff.

And no matter what, I'm looking forward to days of fun with greatly improved accuracy on targets out to 200 metres, or so some claim. I'll just settle for a rifle that's more accurate than I am, not something that I can say about 10/22s and such, not after a month of shooting anyway. And I chose this particular model because it's dual purpose and good for hunting. It's a little heavier than your average bush .22, but its accuracy will make up for that.

This. And while you are at it, get one of the single-shot adapters for when you get real serious. Have fun with your new rifle!

I'm guessing that you didn't go through the trouble to order the rifle from Austria. Anschutz is a German-made rifle. All Anschutz magazines will fit the rifle. You can get five and ten shot magazines. As Gillis2 says, Nordic Marksman is the place to go.

That's a great tip, thanks. But I'm fairly sure that Brownells will not ship magazines to Canada, aren't I?

Nordic Marksman is the first place I looked, they have delisted 5 round mags. They do have a 10 round listed, anyway I'm going to phone them to see what the deal is with the smaller ones, they were around $25 if memory serves and the 10 rd is more like $80- I can't help being economical. And maybe RCMP Labs will prohibit 10 rd bolt action mags next....
