Anschutz 64R Tactical Trainer 64R AND 64MPR

Congratulations Canadiankeeper, I am happy for you. A nice new gun, and a great day of shooting.
You got some great data. It is nice to see that it likes Standard Plus. As it is not the most expensive target ammo.

3 Bricks of SK Standard Plus $193.50 is only a little more than 1 Brick of Midas Plus $182.00, That's Awesome!

I too am very interested to see how it does with CCI Standard and Blaser.
Nordic came through for you in a big way.
I think they may have earned some business from the future "Annie" owners who have read this thread.

Great results. What no center x groups!

4 hours at the range, I was ready to call it a day! Once I realized I had the rifle I was looking for, I the obsessive need to try ALL the ammo disappeared... Realizing it shoots great and to my expectation with about half of the ammo tried.

Yes I am very pleased with the fact it likes standard, I still have some Midas + left over im going to take it out and try it again. Now that I am more familiar with the rifle.

I may try and get out today, it looks like rain all day though. It may rain earlier then predicted (judging by the clouds) so I may not get out today and we will have to wait for another day!

Yes, honestly to ANYONE looking to buy a rifle NORDIC MARKSMAN was beyond helpful and has been a phenomenal dealer to interact with. All though a small shop they come through BIG and are definitely going to do everything they can for you as fast as they can! Keep in mind they are a small shop!

You've got me wanting an MPR now, haha. Congrats.

You know where!

Or I would highly recommend the tactical trainer version!

Also I think it is time to buy some wind flags...

I was at Nordic Marksman when your rifle was sitting on the bench . I've had terrific performance with my MPR from day one and have shared my results with Brad on several occasions . I used to shoot an M24 in PRS competitions many years ago ( pre kids ) and have always felt that the MPR platform is superior when discussing 22LR performance and shooting off a bipod .
I am happy you got fixed up . Brad is a good guy and he runs a good company .

Brad and folks at Nordic have always been excellent to deal with and very accomodating. It is clear that they care about the product and their customers... I will keep sending them my business and referrals.

You two nailed it, continued amazing experience during and after purchase .The best dealer I have had the pleasure of doing business with.

Anyways, went out today with some CCI brands and some left over SK match. Hit the 50 yard challenged with the match. Close with the standard... Not so great with the CCI HV JHP

Let it be known, that the standard had a few rounds not fit the chamber.

SK match .351 .359 .246 .393 .184 Average of .306

CCI HV JHP Copper .769 .749 1.279 .765 .952 Average of .902 (I blame the over 1 inch group on me. You can see a distant one.. That was me... lol Middle target in the pic..

CCI Standard .386 .516 .557 .617 .271 Average of .469

Here are pics!

Isn't it nice to shoot a rifle that does it's part? I dunno about you, but I've sure had enough of chasing accuracy gremlins out of my rifles. Time for some good shootin'! Good job on that target, sooooo close to all 0.2's! That is definitely within your reach to accomplish, and I think you'll do it fairly soon too.

As I've said many times , I am super happy with my MPR . It is a terrific rifle in every respect . It continues to exceed my expectations .

It is! Im sure I will be able to shrink those groups even more soon enough.

Anyways! I always try to be as honest as I can in this review and all things I post! I seems to be having caliper issues. Here is an updated target of the last picture.

Still shooting that I am ok with! Gives me something to work for!

After all this. It's kinda sad to see you selling your Annie on the EE. Good luck with your Semi-Auto
Oh wow! No kidding, hardly seems worth the purchase to turn around so quickly... Pssssst... 10/22's are for suckers! Remington 597 is where it's at ;)

This was anticipated back in June in post #68 in this thread ;)

And so this story seems to be coming to an end. The OP has put his rifle up for sale. https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1578922-Anschutz-64r-tactical-trainer-22lr

Good luck to the OP, although I don't know if I'd cashier an Anschutz for a Ruger 10/22. Seems like retrogression.

Hahaha!

Yea, I dont attach much emotional commitment to my firearms that are for fun.

The process is the fun part, the build up. Once I have it all dialed in, take it for a few outings. Shoot some good groups. I know what I can do with it. I get bored of it! lol

Fields are coming down soon, so I will be able to go stretch my legs with some of my other rifles finally!

Its not a big deal... If it sells, it sells. If not then I have a rifle thats fun to plink with at the range. Everything has a price.

I would say it was definitely worth the purchase. Got to spend a lot of time at the range, got to do a nice little write up on an "uncommon" rifle.

Ive spent a lot more on far less quality rifles. That I did not enjoy nearly as much as this one. (XCR-L tiger stripe green is likely my most sour tasting expenditure gen1 and shot like GARBAGE... Now I wait for gen 2's 3's rifles)

I have built up a lot of center fire bolt action rifles and sold them on here. Quite a few CGN members have got awesome deals on phenomenal rifles. Its better then drinking my money away or on truck parts im going to end up breaking. I get
most of the money back I spent. Cant do that with booze, broken truck parts or most other common hobbies. Plus if I can afford it, why not do it ? I was going to just start the 10/22 build but this months gun money went into tattoos lol

I've razzed CK about this already, but, his experience/photos/advice ultimately led me to buying a "Tactical Trainer" myself! Pretty stoked about it to be honest!

I'm sure CK's plans will end-up with a remarkable 10/22 of some sort...but..my TT is likely to be around for some time. Especially considering how well the thing shoots! :) It's been said before, but Brad @ Nordic is a terrific guy to deal with.

Can we expect a new 10/22 build thread? It's an idea I've also toyed around with in my head and I also like tinkering with things. Sometimes I don't know what to do after I've met whatever goal I set for myself with these things.

Hey, if anyone is interested sure. Its not much of a build I will likely just order everything at once and put it together.

Im going to try to hit the 1/2 inch chal and keep it as light and durable as possible.

It may turn out to be a bit more complicated than that. You may find building a 1/2" capable 10/22 to be a long and involved process of trial and error in order to achieve the desired results, I certainly did. There are currently only about 10 10/22's on the 1/2" list compared to about 25 CZ's and about 32 Anschutz rifles (there is a good reason for this). Good luck, hopefully you enjoy the process.

If anyone wants a 1/2" capable semi-auto, simply fit a match grade barrel (Lilja, Shilen, Benchmark, Krieger, etc... take yer pick) to a Remington 597 (I can recommend a good gunsmith in Southern Ontario for this), apply a little aluminum tape to the stock to "bed" the receiver, test some ammo, and voila! 1/2" capable semi-auto ;)

Or... you can tear your hair out with the 10/22, whatever floats your boat.
