Anschutz best ammo?

That’s very interesting Big Bad. I had the most problems with a batch of Center X that had an excessive amount of lube.

How is the evaluation of too much lube made? Is the problem seeing and feeling lube on the bullet?

By comparison, of course, high velocity, copper washed ammo is dry, as is some standard velocity ammo like CCI SV.

It is my belief that the Anschutz rifles shoot their test target with RWS R50, at 50m my 64 single shot match silhouette will shoot cloverleafs with SK RM and Center-X.

That was proven wrong on many gun. The factory use RWS0tp to test their rifle but in the real world, I have yet to see one that is shooting RWS better than Lapua ot Eley match ammo. I am sure a rifle somewhere like it, but touring other club for competition, on about 30 Anschutz used to compete that I have seen, not one shooter use RWS.

Removing the lube on match ammo is a sure way to kill accuracy.Never touch the bullet.

The above is correct.

This is not correct.

Shooters should be aware that claims that a certain variety of match grade .22LR ammo -- such as RWS R50 or Lapua Midas + or Eley Tenex, for example -- will generally perform in a certain way, are misleading at the very least. It's wrong to say that one variety of match ammo will behave monolithically, that is all the same way.

RWS R50 is the top tier variety of RWS match rifle ammo, literally the "Premium Line" variety. Like any other variety of ammo, be it any from Lapua or Eley, its performance will vary by lot and even by rifle. There will be lots of R50 that will shoot exceptionally well in any good rifle. The same is true for Lapua and Eley varieties. Unfortunately in North America in general RWS ammo is often not as available as Lapua or Eley.

Regarding Anschutz testing, they may use R50 from time-to-time. But not always. Below is an image taken from the Anschutz testing tunnel showing a good quantity of RWS Club having been used. The cost of using R50 for all testing isn't practical.

Did you read what I experienced with this unusual box of dripping wet rounds? Would you have shot them?

It's certainly not usual to see over-lubed boxed ammo from one of the major match ammo makers.

Not to beat a dying horse, but you've declined to show pictures of just how excessively lubed your RWS ammo actually is. Just saying he or anyone else might offer an answer to the question but only if they could see one or more cartridges from this "unusual box of dripping wet rounds".
