20180418_232525.jpgi want to lower my front sight. It looks like you use some kind of fork wrench to turn it down. Is that right? The hole on the perimeter what is that?

Turn counter clockwise to lengthen the sight and move your POI down. Some guns like the exemplar had a ball detent living in that space, and some had a locking setscrew. Either one is out of production at Numrich or Midwest, Nordic marksman might be able to help, or get one made. PN 6533-5

I recently lowered the front sight on my Anschutz and yes you need a fork style bit to do it.I used an existing srew bit from my gun smithing wheeler screw driver set ,I just had to modify the bit until it fit and it worked great

You should be able to file a screw driver bit to fit the slot in the front sight. A hacksaw with a couple of blades put on it to make a slot in the screwdriver blade will help but file to fit as best as you can.

The hole in the perimeter looks like it might be intended for a locking screw or pin to keep the sight from rotating out and being lost. European firearms are sometimes seen with this, but mostly for action screws --- just look at the bottom of military Mausers and you will see what I mean.

I listed the part number, did nodric marksman have any? I will take a picture of the 2 Annies I have with that sight.

i never checked. my wheeler kit had a fork bit i just widened a bit on the inside and ground it down on the outside it worked well. whatever is in that other hole gave me no trouble it seems to be some kind of soft plug or nylock
