Whats the deal with the Anschutz rimfires? I was looking at a couple on Tradeexcanada. Im just curious are they generaly all shooters. Whats so special about them.

Thanks

AFAIK, they are one of the most accurate brands of rimfires...I think their specs are pretty tight, and that nearly all of them shoot very well.

I was looking for an accurate 22LR to complement my.308 shooting, when my shoulder was sore, I was thinking about CZ I have heard a lot of good thing about them and Tried 425 but then someone steer me to Anschutz and I bought 64MPR and boy o boy are they shooters out of the box with Lapua amo I was shooting 1 inch groups at 100 yards and that is with the 3-9 crappy scope I just installed Nikon Monarch (4-16) on it and can't wait to go and shoot it very happy with the purchase very highly recomended

Glag to know they found someone to care for them... I was getting a itchy order-finger... and the last thing I need is yet another 22lr!

Less than $500 for a match-54 with sights, is a pretty good deal.

Hey Mike, I saw those, good buy! Let us know they shoot. Nothing like getting a killer deal on something. Cheers

The hidden gem was the Walther match rifle on the next page. :D
It has a new home ;). Walther rifles are like those kids pokemon things. You have to collect them all. It was the one that was missing from the collection.

Those prices on the Annie 54 rifles were excellent. If they weren't sold already I would have picked one up as well for that price.

When this current gun registration fiasco started a local gun club got rid of all its guns. I bought an Anshutz 180 for $100.00 without sights. I put a real 4X scope on it in real mounts. This rifle feels like a centerfire rifle and thus I use it for practice in the off season. When I'm done with the target I shoot the staples out. The rifle will do it 100% of the time at any distance that you can see the staples in the scope. It really is possible to shoot grouse or squirrels in the eye, all the time, with this rifle.
The only "problem" is that you do have to keep it clean. The chamber is so tight it won't chamber junk ammo and dirt at the same time. By dirt I mean a microscopic coating of powder residue or bullet lube.

Anschutz 1712 .22LR. The most accurate .22 LR I have ever owned.
I know your're probably getting sick of seeing these pic's but I just got to show it off :p

Hidden Gems

The Anschutz rifles were nice, but being a lot older, I bought the Remington 513T. It is amazing what these older rifles, with their cut rifling, can do with modern target ammunition.

Vs Button rifling I presume? This is why I have Zero issue with buying "vintage" .22's

Great Rifles!

My first Anschutz was a single shot with a 64 action, and with peep sights @ 50 meters, I was popping aspirins. It was $200. 28yrs ago. And it was used. My new Match 54 without sights, was $1,100. and that was 7 yrs ago. I actually shot a house fly with it at 100yds with Elly 10x ammo. (I actually do have a witness to that incident). The Tradex rifles are a great deal.

Well If they happen to have them again Ill have to buy one. I also dont care about the peep sights as long as I can mount a scope. Also are they all single shots?

Yes it's a pretty good deal and now, it's mine;)
My first 54 action. Just can't wait to try it. First time with peep sight too. But It will probably be replaced by a scope in a near future.
