Anshutz .222

I have what looks like an Anshutz 1574 looks like it was imported through CIL??? has CIL stamped on the barrel. Anyone familar with this rifle?
 
The only difference between this rifle and a true anchutz is the wood and barrel stamps. I own one and I have to say it is the most accurate of all my rifles at 100 yards (other than my 6ppc). If it is in good shape you have a keeper.
 
Hey catnthehatt, yes roll over cheekpiece, bolt release and wing safety on the left. It is in good shape and my favorite shooter. ( uhh,, the coyotes hate it ). Any idea what it is worth?

It is amazing to some that these rifles are accurate at all, seeng's how they have PINNED barrels!
The bolt, BTW, is the same as their rimfire 54 action match rifles, except for the firing pin geometry.
Actually ,a lot of the stocks for both C.I.L. and Anschutz were OEM by Sile.
I sold one a while back that I aquired from Hithere ( shouldn't have sold it!)
the stock was not as nice as mine.
Sile stocks can be easily identified by the diamond on the grip cap, and their cheek pieces. The stocks are often stamped "sile" in the barrel channel.
They made stocks for many rifle companies , such as Steyr/Mannlicher, Parker Hale, Krico, Weatherby, etc.

Thks for your help, but I am confused, are you saying that this rifle is a cil or anshutz? And that cil rifles have their barrels pinned, or that Anshutz have their barrels pinned? And therefore it's amazing that cil or Anshutz are accurate at all?

The C.I.L. 900 ( which is what you have)
is OEM ( original equipment manufacture) by Anschutz, so it is actually an anschutz rifle with the C.I.L. mark on it.
Any C.I.L. rifle that coincides with their Anschutzcounterpart is made exactly the same, with the same components and quality
And yes, the barrels ARE pinned in place!
The fact that they are accurate does not surprise me as I grew up in a household where C.I.L. and Anschutz were an everyday part of life.
it does surprise some however, when they find out, what with all the supposed
Voodoo that has to go on when barreling up a precision action.
These rifles however are sporters, so maybe this should have been moved to that forum.
However, that fact remains that a 54 actioned Anschutz will hold its own on a good day with some of the best rifles made......
