Anshutz or Sako

My two most accurate 22lr rifles, have been my Anschutz 1408 , and my Anschutz 1907 Repeater. Both will easily average 1/4" or so for five shots at 50 yards. My Cooper Jackson Hunter averaged about 3/8" at 50 yards, and my Volquartsen averages almost as good. In all cases, lower priced target loads(SK Standard Plus or RWS Championship Edition) were used. I haven't owned a Sako rimfire. Anschutz definitely has the best trigger of the bunch, if you like a two stage trigger.

A Sako 94 action will likely out shoot an anschutz 64 action, the anschutz 54 action will almost always outshoot the sako 94 action. owned them all.
The m78 sako 22 action in the biathlon rifle was close to an anschutz 54 action in accuracy, good luck finding one.
The new Sako quad is likely comparable to the 64 action anshutz, not as good as the 54 action. as for anschutz it does make a difference too if you are buying a sporter version or target version.

For Cooper contact Clay at Prophet River. They sometimes have some Anschutz rifles at great prices as well. For a high end Anschutz, contact Peter Krause at Target Shooting Products, as they are the Anschutz distributor in Canada..
if you are after one, new, accurate 22 then the 54 action can't be beat for the price. target shooting products will order what ever you like. spend time looking through the anschutz website, see what you like and go from there. I am told but cannot confirm that there are two 54 actions, one a match grade and one not a match grade. I am also told you can get a match grade action put on a sporter rifle with the stock of your choice. you do have a alot of options. the only other gun to consider would be a custom remington 40x. they made a few that remain unfired. they no longer make them as of a few years ago, everyonce in a while one pops up for sale and would be wonderful to own.
