Quick and simple question why no more anti-tank rifles floating around the market and even if there's no more ammo for em why can't we still import what ever is left in the stashes/warehouse/armory's out of eastern Europe I know the production numbers of AT rifles such as the ptrd-ptrs are much less then any other rifles such as mosin nagant. There must still be some left laying around and make great novolty items that a reloaded could possibly use.

Ps. I know I posted the same thing in the red rifles but I believe the milsurp crowed is much better off to answer this. Btw I believe ptrs and ptrd belong in the milsurp section such as the SVT

I have a PTRD and would love a PTRS to go with it. That said I have to imagine that if there were any more out there that could be had at a reasonable price, Marstar or whomever else would get them. I don't imagine that when Marstar initially brought them in that they had the option to get more at the same price, or I'm sure they'd have done so.

That said, this is all a WAG on my part.

Just as likely as the problems with the DCG/DFAIT etc, is the fact that Cdn gun owners are just plain cheap. Everyone talks about wanting the big guns, but when the time comes to pay for them they want Enfield Sporter prices. When the PTRDs and the PTRSs came into the country about 10 years back, they were a slow sell at $1600 and $2K respectively. And when the occasional Boys rifle surfaces on the market, most buyers expect the old prices of under 3K, and not the reality of 7K to 9K.

Guys want the bragging rights that come with the big toys: you gotta pay. You want to shoot the big toys; expect to pay $25 to $50 a round when you can find them.

Are they gonna launch that one on Canada Day?

BTW speaking of hard to find cartridges and brass for these big toys... what's the regs on importing antique or collector cartridges and brass from outside of Canada. Are things different for Europe from say the USA?

Finding is quite a problem in it's own right. Gonna have to move into a larger place so I can get a reloading rig and lathe setup.
stencollector= Been looking at a Boys conversion and was thinking that with the .510 DTC instead of BMG I wouldn't have to alter the magazine of guiderails. Does this sound feasible to you?

I am not familiar with that cartridge. My boys is converted to BMG. The only mag modification is to provide a groove for the tips of the cartridges to ride in.
