Antique Bear Handgun

The Key idea sounds good but im savein all 6 shots for Yogi when he decides the keys is a dinner bell.

Ive also fired warning shots with a rifle with no effect at all.
Never tried the keys tho.

I had a job dealing with nuisance black bears and found that clicking together rocks (softball/cantalope sized) seemed to startle them into running away. It is an odd sound with a touch of 'nails on the blackboard' to it. Scare-relocate-shoot seemed to be an approach that worked well. :D

I had pretty good luck with a loaf of bread once... :D
as anyone that bait hunts blackie knows, the youngsters come in early to avoid the big guys.we always baited at midday when we weren't likely to see any bears.I had about 15 bears on one particular bait that season and had a bear come in about 2pm while we were baiting, kept circling and getting closer, then heads for the bait truck.buddy hands me a loaf of bread says "here use this"
seems he meant I should throw it out for the bear to eat and keep him busy til we were done.
I was a little more proactive(my truck) and thru it like a football...hit him in the ribs.he lets out a wuff and bolted but didn't leave.he stayed just out of sight but we could still hear him out there.he was probly a 2 yr old and had just got booted off the sow as breeding was coming on.
that's the only time I ever tried to scare one off...usually I was tryin to sneak up on them :D
close encounters with black bears was a common thing baiting and bowhunting in the dense forest in Northern Sk.if yer not baiting them you hardly ever see them.

the last 3 seasons I went I didn't even draw my bow.it was just an excuse to watch some bears and spend a few weeks in the bush in the spring...do some fishing...I kinda miss it :(
