Antique Colt Experts, tell me about my new revolver

Interesting. Unfortuately mine is not like that. Funny though, in all of the reading and research that I've done leading up to buying this gun and after getting it, that is the first time that I've heard the term mentioned.

HI. saw a shooter use a older black powder cylinder with smokless powder, KA- Bang blew the cylinder apart. Heard that smokless should not be fired in older cylinders.

An overload is an overload. That, in a nutshell, is the problem, not the type of powder used.

Pressures must be loaded to match the specs that the gun was made to handle. Do that, and all will be well. Buy factory ammo loaded to modern pressure specs and dump it through a cylinder designed for BP pressures, is a recipe for a mess.

Cheers
Trev
