From what I can tell, any firearm made before 1898 that does not fire a center or rim fire cartridge is considered an antique and does not require a license to own/buy/sell or trade ? A firearm made before 1898 but fires a center fire or rim fire cartridge needs a license to own ? Am I correct, looking for confirmation. Thank you.

Also just a quick touching base on converted caliber antiques, be cautious with them when importing. They are antique in Canada by law, but the recent change of opinion of the firearms lab is being upheld by CBSA and they can be seized at the border.
