Antique Lever Actions

I keep seeing these old Winchester lever action for sale, like model 1886's for instance likely produced before 1898 in old obsolete cartiges like .40-60 etc, that arent registered as antiques? Is there a reason for this? Can they not be classed as antiques for some reason?

only levers that are antique are rimfire cartridges, there are several, at least two models I think.

Made before 1898 are the Henry and Winchester 1866 in 44 Rimfire, also the Spencer in 52-56 Rimfire that is about it classed as Antique for lever action repeaters.

If it is a repeating rifle and a centerfire, then it is not an antique, no matter the year. Rimfires are a different story, as mentioned above.
