FYI you can copy the IMG code under the "share this image" section and paste it strait into the text. The picture will automatically display.

If you quote this you'll be able to see what the pre and post code look like.... unfortunately you can't type them to show people, since it's always interpreted as code :p It's basically [ IMG]your image link here[ /IMG] without the spaces inside the brackets.

Anyways... I'm just going to go back to staring at the webley fosberry and drooling.

Holy crap, for a revolver?? Guess I have alot to learn LOL...and to think I almost gave them away:redface:

10K might be optimistic, for sure 5-7K just by eyeballing the pics, maybe more assuming it functions well and has a good bore. Nonetheless a very nice piece.

1849 Pocket Colt

I have been wanting a 1849 Pocket Colt for a long time and finally got one. It is in "rough" shape but I am going to fix it up and shoot it. Took it to the range yesterday and shot a few paper wads with it,it isn't ready yet for solid projectiles.
The serial numbers date it to 1861..the same year that SamL Colt was commissioned a colonel.

to get the full benefit of this thread I would appreciate if the contributors would submit a facing and profile picture as well as a thumb print with the pictures of their unregulated iron...

Thanks for sharing...

Metropolitan Police

This is the first Metropolitan I've had. The bottom gun is a Colt 62 Police.
The Metropolitan Is a .36 cal Police with a lot of finish still. The silver is about 75% still. And a very tight gun with a great bore. Just a little pricey. Sure would make a nice shooter tho.

Just got this one today..A Manhattan .36 Series IV made around 1865..the interesting thing about this gun is the extra cylinder stops (Patented Dec.27 1859) which allow the cylinder to be locked between the nipples making it safer to carry fully loaded.
This is a very close copy made after the Colt patents ran out.
Here is a link to a web site dedicated to Manhattan guns:

Heres my newest Addition.

French Mle 1873 11mm "1876" manufactured Revolver. Gun works very well mechanically, timing is perfect. Some very minor suface pits here and there mostly just patina.

Was navy issue, has two anchors stamped on bottom of handle beside lanyard ring. All parts numbers matching, a complete specimen :).
