1895 Winchester. Out of storage after 25 years and ready to hunt :)

That's a good shooting pistol - I put a few hundred rounds through that very same revolver and it worked fine. I bought it on the EE about 2 years ago, sold it about a year ago for $800 including dies and loading components. My loads were 3.5 gr Unique with a 110 gr cast bullet, so they weren't light loads. You are about the 4th CGNer to own that one, that I know of.

Good to know jethunter, She still works perfect... no complaints what so ever mechanically. I'm sure it will make a good shooter for many rounds to come.

These revolvers may look a little archaic but they sure engineered them well.

sorry site won't allow me to post attachments
it's a great shooter, fired about 20 or so rounds with no problems, there is little felt recoil but lots of smoke. the ammo is H&C collection re loadable brass. fffg Goex black powder
I have a Remington 58 new army on it's way, my first attempt at a U.S. mailorder antique revolver through customs, hope it goes well.
I will post a pic as soon as it arrives

Since you're using photobucket, just click on the line of script labelled "Image Code" and paste it into your post window. The pics will come up. There's a great tutorial in the photos and videos section too - it's stickied.

Hi:wave:
My Remington 1858 new model army .44 arrived today, hard to believe it is
140 +yrs old! it was restored in the early 70's as a shooter. the barrel is a modern replacement as well as the grips. the great thing with this cap and ball is no shortage of ammo:ar15: and parts are readily available. I think I may have set a record for passing through customs less than 24hrs w:h:

Good for another 140 years and the cylinder looks to be in great shape.
And as you mentioned ammo is cheap and plentiful, it is amusing to watch large calibre cartridge shooters run out of ammo at the range and have to leave.:D

I love them Pryses the frist guns that i collected and loved the most were Pryse revolvers one that looked very much like your bigger one.
They shoot great and feel so good in the hands and there latch system is good and strong.
They just have such a nice flow and shape.
Im into Remington 1875s and SAA colts now because of the stronger solid frames but i still love the look of them old pryse guns.

Dave Whats the Story on the little one? its Diffrent has a diffrent type latch system can you get us some more pics and show the latch system?
I find that one very intresting.
