Antique pistols - where can they legally be shot? Also, hunting.

Alright.

I was at a gun store today and I heard something that I believed to be incorrect, which was that antique pistols can only be shot at restricted handgun ranges.

Also,

Assuming they can be shot in the same places you can shoot non-restricted - I had a conversation with a guy and we were wondering whether there are any laws against HUNTING with an antique pistol.

For these hypothetical scenarios, we'll say the shooter is in Saskatchewan and the pistol being discussed is an antique .38 rimfire with a barrel under 100mm.

This. Hunting is provincially administered so each province writes its own regulations. Oh, and if you are discharging an antique outside a range, know the laws and carry several copies of the antique regulations as well as paperwork for your specific antique. No officer is going to know the antique laws, and they definitely won't be able to recognize your specific antique as legal without them.
 
Posted on the site somewhere else. The ontario hunting regs state you can't handgun hunt with any handgun that's restricted or prohibited. So antique and air gun are legal (air gun needs to meet specific fps)

Living in a country with convoluted, abusive and draconian firearms laws that the average law abiding citizen has a hard time understanding sure is getting old as well.
