I was keeping an eye open for one myself but ended up picking up an 1896 bergmann...prescribed antique as well...

Not meaning to highjack...just not many antique semi auto's this side of the border.

The one I sold on the EE a couple of weeks ago was a different gun, This I have a status letter from the RCMP that shows it is a status antique.

I also like the old self-loaders, but haven't managed to find a true antique yet. My C96 is one of the 1917 "Red Nines", but I'd really like to find a Bergmann (I could afford). Many years ago, while living and collecting in the US, I had two of the Bergmanns (an 1896 and a Mars), and a couple of other old autoloaders. I sold them, of course, and am now very unhappy that I did so.

X2, how the heck does that thing work ? Closest thing I can think of in terms of overall look would be a pellet/bb gun.

Its a semi...just like the C-96. Loads with a stripper clip ahead of the trigger...just like the C-96. With the Bergmann, the whole clip goes in the pistol...unlike the C-96. Cal is 5mm Bergmann which I have a way of making cartridges for . Its a 6 shot which is loaded by pushing down on the round knurled button below the trigger guard, this pushes the loading gate open (which is on the other side of the frame) and you pop in the clip. Once all 6 rounds are fired, the clip drops out the bottom and you pop a new one in...

Very rare of course...and very small. about half the size of a broomhandle.

I was looking for a decent cone hammer broomhandle for a long time...never found one at the price I was after. When I came across the Bergmann I just couldnt resist.

...the lever on the side is the safety, little part in front of it is a spring that puts tension on the safety lever...action is very smooth, no double action in these things...lets see...what else...?

Mine is not as nice as the one in the pic...Its being stripped, cleaned and tuned up. I'll put pics up when its ready...not likely until fall

CONGRATULATIONS !! A superb ConeHammer Std. variation right down to the 23 lines grips ( numbered ?) and German rust blue at it's best !! Crown N proofs ?? Rear sight is 100-300 m or other ?? Stock ??
