Hi Guys , Just need your help here ... Couple weeks before I have seen a Webley MarkIII up for sale at EE ... As far I have read about Mark III they were made between 1894-1897 ... and some people say some of Weblay MarkIII are considered as Antique and some are not ... does any body have info about the serial number that are considerd as antique or if anybody own one. Any help will be appreciated ... thanks in advance

A CFC tech would be a good person to ask this question. To my understanding MKIII production did not start until 1897 and they were just on the brink of the Canadian antique definition cut off, have seen sub 3000 serials as prescribed antiques.

MKIII webleys started production in 1897, not 1894. I've seen antique letters for MkIIIs with s/n 13xx and 18xx.

Just call an RCMP firearms tech and prepare to wait 3 weeks for the answer.

The serial number is around 77XX .. I did wrote to a firearm technologist at CFC , he did help me to get antique letter for mark II this week , just waiting for his reply ... thanks guys

I was Told the cut off is in the 4000s on Military MKIIIs 455 caliber i think it was 4500 anything under that was ok, but hey go and ask the numbers seem to move around alot on Webley MKIIIs and WG armys ect.
I even had a Webley MKIV thats a factory nickled MK4 Comercial model that CFC Deregistered because of the P webley & son Barrel address and that it was marked 455/476
A fellow in Quebec i bought it from convinced CFC to Deregister it as a Antique it was a nice Comerical Nickled gun. I sold it but i was surprised they would call any webley MK4 Antique.
so its worth asking again on your MKIII.

I here you about the numbers, Bighornchris has a nice Webley WG for sale on EE with a high serialed antique letter in 14### range. MY WG army is in 8### range and was made in 1897 according to what remains of actual Webley/Scott archive records. I have no idea what reference material CFC is using.

I think I have seen the MKIII D_Eagle is refering to on gunbroker, looks like nice peice other than high serial.
