Antler Restaurant in Toronto

As I understand the placed has been doing really well recently and you need a dinner reservation to get in there right now. Good for them!
If i was out in Toronto I would be giving them some business.

I understand that the restaurant does not serve wild game, though? But rather, farmed game. Which (unfortunately) raises a host of other ethical and health related concerns.

Better to raise the endemic species for meat commercially than wipe them off the land to raise species from other continents. Same as the Atlantic salmon farming debate here in BC’s Pacific. Yes, there are disease concerns, but overall it’s a morally preferable and often more productive path. We grew up commercial farming and there’s a lot that can be improved.

I had dinner at Antler this evening. No protesters around tonight, they apparently now pick and choose when they go harass patrons. Seemed like most of the hippie protesters were smoking weed and loitering at nearby Trinity Bellwoods park.

Anyhow, some of the food was great, some was ok. I wouldnt recommend the bison ribeye. The venison was excellent, but certainly not as good as the venison meal Hoyt prepared for the boys at the snow goose extravaganza. All in all, I’m happy I went to support the business. But be prepared to leave a good sum of cash for fairly small portions
