A friend of mine was talking to a guy he knows who was involved in a debate over a deer that was shot on whether the deer was antlered or antlerless. The deer in question was a doe that had one horn measuring 7.5cm and the other one was 3.5 cms. Do both antlers have to be over 7.5 cms for it to qualify as an antlered deer in Ontario? I think it was an antlered deer, the way I interpret the regs.
The regs state that an antlerless deer must have antlers shorter than 7.5 cm.
The deer ended up being tagged with an antlerless tag, I'm told but the guy who shot the deer feels an antlerless tag was wasted. Who would be right?
