Any 10M shooters?

I used to be very active with 10M air pistol.
Around 12 years ago or so, I worked myself up to expert class with the SFC (Shooting Fed of Canada)
I sort of dropped out after my kids were born. Some day I'd like to get back into it.

That is mostly what I shoot, my basement is just long enough. Not really seriously however. Got a Baikal Izh46M and a Tau-7 for slow, and a Drulov Du-10 for faster rate.

I just do it for fun or when I have a new shooter to get them started. Its nice to forego the earplugs and recoil for that, but folks tend to wanna hear a big bang. Too easy where I am to pull out a .22 etc. Without a doubt in my mind the best shooters are trained with airguns. I should really take it more seriously. If I'm feeling full of myself I just have to pull out the big stack of 'once fired' competition targets I have sitting here and try to 'beat' what the other guys have shot. I almost never do. My rifle is a nice little CZ2000t but my pistol is just a Webley crank with a horrible trigger. I have a lot of respect for airgun folks'.

canuckgunny,

There's no real secret to be a good pistol shooter...
- Focus on the front
- Don't jerk the trigger
- Practice some more...

Looking at some old pistol-log-book, my best score in rimfire and center fire where when I'd practice daily with the airpistol at home...

I really ought to did it out again.

Hey Michel !

Do you still have your TAU-7 ?

As far as I'm concerned, whenever I want to have some fun, I get my Weihrauch HW98 and I shoot the official SFC 10 meters Silhouette target.

I used to shoot air pistol quite a lot. I shoot rifle more often now. I still have a competition air pistol (MG-1), two FWB-80's, one FWB-65 mkII, and an IZH-46M. I enjoy shooting each of them.

Our club has built a really lovely indoor airgun range in Yellowknife. With the long cold winters we operate it about 8 months a year. I RO at it a couple of nights a week, and shoot my own when it is slow. Great for getting new youth shooters, and amazing practice for all the other shooting sports - 10m at an idoor range takes away all the excuses!

Evenin, Carlos. I'm shooting 10m air pistol and rifle every choosdy night.

I'll take a rain-check on the 50m Free Pistol. though. Mine - Jurek free Pistol serial number 2 - is now slag someplace.

Take care.

I shoot a Tau and used to compete in the NW ontario shoot and the Manitoba annual shoot at Glen Murphy Range, unfortunately the Winnipeg club got rid of the bullseye shoots a few years ago, so nolonger shooting competively! The second time I shot my brand new Tau was at the Winnepeg tournament and shot a respectively 517/600, still haveny been able to beat that score by much, best practise was 521/600. I wish there was some where close to compete other than driving 16 hours to T.O! I have done a postal match ran threw the US, but when one of our junior shooters won, they rip him off on the 1st prize money, so we nolonger compete in that group anylonger. A few in our Bullseye club still shoot weekly to keep our skills up. I always go back to the air when my shooting bullseye goes south, really helps refocus proper shooting techniques, cheers Dale Z!
