I'm going to just throw this one out there and hopefully, nobody will start swatting me. But, I think the Ruger Mini 14 is an awesome little .223 rifle (note that I did not say "the best"). It's a nice little semi-auto with a wood stock which looks quite pleasing to the eye. I'm not going to argue accuracy because I've got low standards and I get really excited if I hit anywhere near the dot in the middle. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the AR-15 - there isn't. I just think there is a place for both styles.
