Any .375 Winchester users here?

Impressive performance!
^^^ and I am thinking of selling my 21" T/C Contender single shot carbine barrel will come with brand new dies - new Starline 38-55 and once fired 375 Win brass Match Grade Machine scope base. ^^^
I do not need it due to my 14" Contender barrel in 375JDJ gives me exactly the same velocities as a 21" 375 Win will give.
I bought it used but have never fired it.

It is a factor only.
Discombobulate the heart-lung-blood supply to the brain. And it doesn't matter if that's from a 2300fps round from a .458Lott or a broadhead fired at 330fps.

Jest aside, Americans love their slow big bores. Slow, only because they just as I, refuse to tolerate the recoil of fast big bore for long. But they like the idea of something “big”, even if the results on game don’t bear out compared to a modern rifle. Many an American asked the .45-70 etc question when it came to big bears, I always politely steered them back to their elk rifles.
Fast just means modern in my world, .30-06 class. There’s a damn good reason those ballistics took over the world, everyone but bear hunters were onto the terminal ballistic secret of velocity by the First World War. It all stems from waves in tissue, above 2200fps they leave permanent tissue damage. It makes a major difference.

The 235 Speer semi-spitzer can also be used in the 375 Win and they are easier to find than the Woodleigh. I can get them to 2000fps with Rl 7 and they expand a bit to 100 yards or so and really penetrate like crazy. File off the lead tip to flatten the rounded point and get them to 230 grains or so to use them in a tubular magazine. Very accurate

i shoot a 375 BB now an then for sambar deer here in Aus.
lately its been with a 245gr hard cast commercial boolit , i load mine down but warmer than 38-55 as its pretty lively at full power..
more of a novelty i guess these days -
accuracy improved with a williams peep sight set up over the factory buckhorns.... out to 100m pretty good, the bush dictates how far ya can get a shot off, sometimes the bead obstructs the target etc...
good round though when used right-- not the powerfullest by any means.
