I will be putting together some loads for my 91/30 sniper soon.I have an assortment of 150gr Hornady + Sierra as well as 180gr Sierra + CIL /Hornady 174gr RN . Powders RE#15 and IMR 4350.Can have access to quantities of Varget if warranted.Lots of data out there and I have 6-8 books but want to save some time and components starting with the 10% below charge weight etc...Googled myself cross eyed.....wondering how others have made out? Thanx Harold

I slugged my bore out to be .308 so I've been using Barnes triple shocks keeping things in the MOA area with 4895. Have to look at my book for my charge. Slug your bore to make sure you get the right diameter of bullet and you'll be on track. My sniper surprised me with it's accuracy with no work to the rifle itself.

Prvi brass as well.

Found out this AM I was drawn for a cow moose here in central AB so I'd like to 91/30 her this November.........Harold

I was using 4064 and 150 grain Hornady .311 bullets.

Now that I can get MFS 203 gr SP's for $14.00 per box I stopped reloading.

They are slightly underloaded, but my scoped M91/30 can keep them in 8" @ 300 meters all day long, which is fine for hunting accuracy, and I don't think it's worth reloading to add 100 - 150 fps to them.

If I changed my mind, I'd likely just pull the 20 bullets per box and turn them into 18 "heavy" loads with the same powder and bullets.

What kind of primer have you guys been using for the mosin? As I have already had one primer on my PPU brass go right through on the mosin sniper.

Lapua brass - sierra PH 180 .311"- H380 47.0gr - WLR primer - 3.000"long - 2400fps - 1.5"@100 open sight
