Any 870 14" barrels still out there?

It seems last year you could get them but now a 12.5" or 14" Remington 870 barrel is "not available" or "out of stock" where ever I look. Dlask barrels are pricey but I would pay if they at least had some as they are a Canadian Company. I guess I will have to live with a 20" barrel on my camping/middle of nowhere shotty.

I just bought a brand new 14" cyl bore raised bead express barrel for $185 at a lgs. Last one in stock so don't pm me asking where. They're still out there, you just gotta get off your phone and look.

After searching a number of stores in Calgary and Edmonton when I was in Alberta earlier this month, I think you were lucky/fortunate finding one. Living on Vancouver Island doesn't make a store by store search easy. I might try a search of the ones on the BC mainland but it's a lot of time and associated expense for something that should be more readily available. I tend to find things once I stop looking for or wanting them anyway.

Not lucky at all, it had been there for a long time. Also picked up a brand new 870 for less than most of the 870's on the EE. Maybe now that its test fired I should try and sell it for $200 more than I paid for it. Buyer pays shipping of course LOL. Do you have a wtb ad up? Someone might offer one for less than twice the price of brand new.

I just bought my 870 a week and a half ago, so my shorter barrel search has only just begun. You probably could ask $200 more and get it from the prices I have seen! Just make sure you don't get sellers remorse. I saw other WTB ads for the same in the EE, so I figured they had not been prosperous in their search, receiving no offers. I probably will if all other avenues yield no success.

You can order a brand new Rem 870 Police or Wingmaster 14" barrel from the US and have Prophet River import it for you (I believe they charge $50 to import a barrel). There are always a half dozen or so available on Gun Broker or you can go direct to one of the tactical shotgun specialists who sell parts, such as AI&P Tactical. The barrels are about $175USD - so about $350-400 CDN with exchange, tax and shipping.

Here is an example of the listing from the AI&P Tactical website:

"Note: All come with fixed Modified choke as that is all Remington Offers. All 14" barrels are Police barrels and have the barrel ring detent plunger. No Remington Police barrel are threaded for choke tubes, none.

14" bead sight parkerized $175
14" bead sight Wingmaster high luster Blue $178
14" Rifle sight parkerzied $182
14" XS Low Profile sights (none Tritium) $202
14" XS Low Profile with Tritium From Sight $225
14" With Trijicon Rifle Sights $228
14" Marine Nickel has only a Front Sight and it is
Trijicon Tritium $206"

This is my favourite (14" Police with low profile XS rifle sights):

But if you have a Wingmaster, or a blued 870P, Remington only makes a bead sight barrel in the high gloss blue finish:

Man, those are really nice Tom E Gun.

I have the same 14" XS low-pro barrel and love it. That blued 14" is awesome. Would love to have one but don't really need it.

Thanks madashell;
I know what you mean. I really don't need 2 870 shotguns (not to mention the 2 other 12 Ga shotguns I currently own), but everyone needs a hobby. I usually only buy lightly used, good quality guns when I see them at a very good price, that way I can always resell and either break even or make a small profit should I need to. There are not many other hobbies where you can do that.

Get prepared to start paying higher prices for factory Remington barrels - the last NIB one I bought on the exchange forum before the large run came in a couple years ago was $400 plus shipping. And that was a good buy at that time. It probably won't be long before they're back that high.

??? Clearly states These do not fit standard Remington 870 shotguns, only Dlask Arms 870 'Shortys'.

So not sure what your saying. You could always buy a Dlask shotgun at twice the price of a 870 and their barrel that only fits their version.

I have a DLASK 12.5 on an 870 receiver and it fits fine. I just had to sand down a bit underneath of the forearm (the forearm itself, not the barrel), as the barrels are a bit thicker than stock.

They make them on a regular basis. They are never out of stock for very long, and I have had a couple of custom length barrels made by them and they just charged the same as their regular barrels. If you go that route you may want to pay the extra and get the removable choke option

Just got a 12.5" from Dlask today. The transformation is complete. My new camping predator shotgun. The barrel fits perfectly. Magpul stock and forend, SMC light mount, 190 lumen light I bought at the hardware store, and a neat end cap from Dlask.

The Remington barrels are just fine, have a few of them and no complaints.

However, I see little need to worry about hunting one down at the prices guys are gonna want today when the Dlask 12 & 14" are readily available and superior anyway.
