Any ACOG owners?

FUKCIN WICKED OPTIC!! After owning one I will never be able to go back to anything else. I still use my Eotech for up close CQB type stuff though.

Mine is a TA31RCOM4

If you want the best of CQB and long distance shooting get the new TA-31 with the Doctor Optics already on it. It just came out.

TA-11 with donut of death, it is not the best for accuracy shooting (benchrest groupings) but for an action optic it can't be beat.
It's extremely bright and very clear optics. :) :) :)

From where? Keep in mind you cannot buy direct from the USA.

Is it illegal to buy ACOGs from the states? I know Trijicon wasn't shipping to canada because they are all going to the US military.

I was going to buy one from a guy I know in states. I don't want to get in any trouble.

Can anyone chime in on this?

Long and short of it is yes. If your friend is caught exporting it to you, he'll potentially wind up in club fed. If we could legally attain ACOG's with the kind of prices you get on the AR15.com Equipment Exchange, we'd all have them, sadly this isn't the case.

I called canada customs and they said they had no problem letting it through the border.

I called canadian firearms gov't phone and they said i needed nothing to order any scope from the states from a dealer.

Is it just the US retailer that needs permits?

I am confused.

No canadian agencies I have contacted said I couldn't order one.

So am i to believe If a canadian orders one and recieves it, he isn't doing anything wrong? The canadaian can't be prosecuted?

Its only the american dealer that is brealing the law?

The only people who care are the US Dept of Commerce/State, they want a export permit for it to leave the US.

Perfectly okay to bring into Canada by Canadian regs.

The Canadian dealer won't be prosecuted. The Canadian dealer also won't get one without a US dealer having the permits. The US companies I've asked won't do it, won't even consider it. The stack of papers they have to go through is a mile high, and whats the market? The US market is considerably larger than the Canadian market. For most its not worth it. Hell, SWFA wouldn't do it. No dealership or informed person is going to break a federal law for an optic.

If you do find a CDN Dealer with permits, do let us know though. :)

Any supplier that one won't have to pay just shy of 800 over the US MSRP on? When it comes to spending over $2200 on the RCO model, that raises the bar to Short Dot country.
