It does suck though, when you see like-new ACOG TA31 in the LaRue mount sell for $800US on american forums eh?

I just got off the phone with Dave's Surplus. He imports and sells ACOGS legally here in Kanada.

Looking at our Intranet (DOS) they have not layed off ACOG's -- infact several other items have been added to the LE/MIL only market -- any rifle scope illuminated with tritium (strangely not pistol night sights though)

I lucked out and imported a TA31 (Donut of Death!) just before they became unimportable. I did have to file for an import permit, but ended up with a new unit for about $1100 CAN all said and done.

+1 on Daves Army Surplus. I bought my ACOG from them, about six months ago (Tritium and all), so somehow this optic is cool for Canadians again. I recommend Dave's, great service, rapid shipping, all was fine.

Yep, $1500 is pricey, but what can you do?
