Any affordable k98 Bayonets in this Country?

So I have decided to pair all my rifles with their correct bayonets. Now a few of them I expected to pay a premium for like my SVT-40 or Hakim, but I didn't think a rifle as common as a K98 would have a bayonet so pricey! Even the ONE reproduction I've found is close on $100 with shipping.

Is there any secret in obtaining a German k98 bayonet for sub $150? There has to be untold thousands in circulation.

They are pricey,even repros if they are of good quality.Keep an eye on EE,they do show up every so often at decent price but then there is shipping etc .

Don't buy a repro. That's sad.

They pop here or eBay or gunboards routineltnfor $100. It will be mismatched serials but if you considered troop this probably isn't a huge deal.

I don't want a repo, but a mismatched or slightly worn example is fine as long as it's german. It's going on a RC k98 after all.

I just find it funny that I had an easier time finding sub $150 Bayonets for my Hakim and Egyptian FN-49 than I am currently having finding a K98 one.

It's the allure of the craftsmanship that drives the Mauser bayos up I guess. I certainly have done more than my part to drive up the cost of k98 bayonets without owning a single hakim or Egyptian bayonet.

Keep an eye out at gun shows too. I once passed on a mint matching '38 Elite Diamant at a little show for $150...regret that one.

I found one last weekend at the gun show for 100 dollars. Lots of people want crazy amounts of money for them but if you wait a while and look around good deals can be found.

Marstar had some m-48 yugo bayonets, I know they are not correct for a k 98 but it's better then nothing and they were under $100

Paid 50 American for a slightly cut down WWI 98/05 Bayonet (either by the Turks or by the Germans for WWII), at a gunshow in the states a couple weeks ago.

I wouldn't even say it is the allure of quality, as many other extremely well made bayonets exist for cheap as well. I would argue it is simply people increasing the price on bayonets as most bayonets are at or around the 150$ mark regardless of make or type.

I bought two nice MM examples with frogs from eBay. Both cost $150 + shipping. That's a good price these days. Lots of worn out/altered junk to, so buyer beware.

Yugo refurbished k98 bayonets; all the pokey parts, half the money.

Depends on how they're done, some just got new grips and the P44 stamp on the scabbard.

Yugo or Czech refurbished German K98 bayonets are still fairly reasonable.
