I've got a NEA 10/22 chassis on the way and want a free float hand guard for it. Doesn't have to be "high speed". Just has to be cheap and work. Anyone know any airsoft rails that would fit on?

I believe they should. Check out the UTG stuff, it's pretty cheap.

I was about to chastised you mercilessly until I read it's going on a .22 rimfire. :D

UTG would prolly due.

The UTG would fit on an AR... they just wouldnt float over the Gas block without modification.

Guns and airsoft don't usually have the same thread. I have installed YHM rails on an airsoft gun though... But the threads on the airsoft were unusable afterwards.

I would be hesitant to use pot metal garage anywhere near a firearm. Toy parts shouldnt be mixed with guns.

My experiences with airsoft parts have been dissapointing to say the least. They are made to look like the real deal but often fall short on quality. Fit, finish, strength and reliability are out to lunch. Theres a reason Larue parts cost so much more than airsoft Larue parts etc. It'll be way more expensive but my NEA-22 will be dipped in real Kool-aid  Oh Yeah! :)...drink the kool-aid ;)

You could try the airsoft copy of the Omega X rail and mount it to a real AR barrel nut. Since the rail is mounted to the NEA chassis and not the barreled action, if it breaks the only thing that would get hurt is your pride :)

I don't think we have any left. We had a bunch of samples sent it. They weren't bad, we just decided not to carry them. They weren't airsoft, they were just Chinese knock offs

i bought and Ebay Knight's knock-off for my NEA 22 kit as well. does the job. the rail is good, but i have already stripped the receiver screws taking it apart just once.

has to be a better design......

what about guns that are MADE from pot metal
*cough* m305 *cough*

Really didnt know the M305 was made of pot. I guess Im glad I didnt buy one. I think pot metal in a critical part is an accident that is waiting to happen.

Some manufacturers like Hi Point use this low grade magic alloy stuff, which is fine if the gun is meant to be shot a dozen times then thrown out, it justifies its price point. The problem with pot metal on guns is when people buy them and use them the way they would a normal gun and wonder why they shatter or implode eventually.

the chassis attaches through the holes for the scope rail. they are very weak. i drill mine out and used larger bolts, but a couple of cleanings later, they were toast. i don't even use them anymore.

BTW, i got my knock-off rail for $40 shipped.

Didn't the RCMP claim a while ago that certain airsoft firearms could be converted into real firearms. cou:

I am abusing the term firearm for emphasis
