Any bears seen yet ?

bear and pigs never go well along.
Anti-hunting girl once lectured me that animals should be left alone to die “naturally”. I told her great effort is taken to ensure quick, humane kills — whereas “natural” deaths are rarely without suffering.

life can be an hard awakening for some latter. i liked little babboons monkeys up to the time i ve seen them tearing apart a dog and destroying a camp like it was nothing but they re so nice ... a small rifle calibre with a scope in good hands had be proven to be the best tool if needed.

i ve seen wild boar eating fawns like it was nothing for them when wolf and bears are part of the chains: boars more are more cautious of all what is around ... bear is certainly in the black or grizzly kind the most adapted predators in our continent (do not know that much on polar) and luckily we can still hunt them.

Buddy just saw a bear at Hurkett , 50 miles east . At my place , 30 miles north west , 6 cams up , no tracks or scat around , the snow is gone in the open areas but there is a foot of snow under the thick pines . Lots of bear out my way just not yet . The deer wintered well .

Extremely early spring here in west central Manitoba warm and dry...But only a few bears out for the last 3 weeks looking for some green up and turning stones...If they are still out they are now slugging through a foot or more of snow...It looks like most of them knew better.

I live a fair distance from Real bear country, but we had a missing person case here last week. Not directly related to that, but the local paper claims, fresh Grizzly tracks were found in the vicinity, during the search.

Grizz

The biggest black bear I’ve seen was crossing hwy 17 in Terrace Bay (downtown) coming from the south going north at 2 am I stopped for it, back was even with the top of the truck hood. It was going up into the hotel/plaza parking lot
