Any Benelli owners have any experience with the ATI Raven M4 stock/forend?

I'm not really interested in the Raven stock or barrel shroud, just the forend. Frankly I hate the factory forend on the Benelli M4. It's slippery and does not seem up to par with the quality of the rest of the firearm. I've never handled any ATI products so I have no idea what the quality is like. I have found a few places online where I can order just the forend but they're all US companies so purchasing one and then returning it if it's no good is a bit of a hassle. Thought I'd check with you folks first.

New ATI stocks are much improved compared to their earlier offerings. No issues at all with any of my new, current production ATI stuff. Be sure to check dates on forum posts that you peruse.

yep for sure they have improved
but still its like going from Kia to Hynadui
does not belong on a Benelli!!!!

Regardless what brand of add ons considered, I think Benellis are good just the way the are.

I'm kind of coming that conclusion myself. I just wish that the M4 forend was a little more textured so it didn't feel so slick. Perhaps there is some sort of treatment I could apply to it to remedy that.

I shouldn't crap on ATI. I'm sure they're always improving and they have legions of happy customers. I still might acquire one of the Raven M4 forends and see how it is firsthand. It's only $50-$60 and if it turns out to be better for me than the factory one then it's a steal. If it's no good for me I'm sure I can find someone to take it off my hands.

Maybe look at stimpling(sp) the plastic. It's a method where you use a soldering gun to dimple the surface. Many shooters have done this to their handgun and shotgun grips and with good results. It is permanent though, obviously.
Look it up and see what you think if it.

I actually went ahead and ordered the ATI Raven forend. It's only $60 and if it's any good that's a steal. If I don't like it I'm sure someone will and be happy to buy it from me.

I just can't live with the plastic forend on the M4 as it comes from the factory. The telescoping stock is nice but the forend feels like I'm holding something from Toys R Us.

I'm a big fan or stippeling had a budy that's a master at it.
But the m4 forend has a heavy mix of glass filled nylon , which is greatt for
Heat realted issue but does not work well for stippeling

The M4 is a great shotgun, but they should have textured the forend the same as the M1/M2 forends are. MUCH more solid texture!

Someone needs to tell Mesa Tactical to make a grippier textured M4 forend than the ones they offer!

I'd rather use skateboard tape than something from ATI.

I hear you...I kind of thought the same way after reading some poor reviews but I took a chance and bought the ATI forend anyway and installed it. So far I am impressed. It's got a very comfortable grippy rubber texture and it's also longer the the factory forend extending past the barrel lug making for more comfortable holding options. It also doesn't add any noticeable weight to the shotgun either.

I'm not familiar with ATI products, other than from online reviews, but I think they did their homework on this one knowing that people who shell out the kind of money for an M4 are going to insist on a quality after market product. I guess I wont really know how I feel about until I shoot with it on but so far it gets a big thumbs up for me.

Spend the bucks and install a B & T aluminum fore end that has rails. It fits like a glove and improves the handling immensely. It's $300.00 from Wolverine's. A little expensive, but really worth it.
