Any body reloading for a rem 788 in 22-250

I had a 788 and it like 35 grains of Varget and a 55gr VMAX... those load seems to work well in most 22/250's I have tried it in.

I have the rifle in question. So far, IMR 3031, Benchmark and H380 are it's favourite powders. It seems to only shoot ballistic tip style bullets like Nosler or Sierra blitzkings and mine prefers 50 grain bullets. Something to do with the slower 1-14 twist gives the 55 and 60 grain troubles in mine. I have kept to the lower end of the charge scale as my rifle seems to create higher pressures than normal but I have only fired about 200 rounds so far in load development. If you are able to get one, I recommend the Timney trigger for it. I got mine from Brownells in March, no problem with import or export permits - I ordered it - they sent it. Prices may have changed to affect its "sellability" to Canadians since the spring but it was worth every penny. FWIW, the Remington UMC 45 grain hollow point is a consistent .75 MOA performer in my rifle and my best handloads so far have not beaten it by much. I am going to start experimenting with seating depth soon - so far I have been keeping things so I can use the magazine. That may be something you guys can try playing with and let me know! Good luck!

The good thing about the 22/250 is the wide range of suitable powders for it. I've used everything from 3031 to 4350 or WW760 in mine.

32/3031 has been a long time fave for 52gr target loads. Currently I've got some loaded with 4350 and WW760 ready to try some 60gr Nosler Partrions with.
