I am patiently waiting for my rpal to arrive and like everyone that has been in my position, I am relentlessly researching my first purchase. I don't want to break the bank to severely on my first purchase but want a well made and reliable polymer framed handgun. If half of what reviewers have said about the tp9sa is true, it seems like a great choice. Would love to hear the opinions of CGNers that have had a chance to put some rounds through one. What say you?

Here is another one to consider. Girsan MC 28 SA. Great reviews. Very similar to M&P 9mm. For the fashion conscious it comes in green black or tan.

I have watched this gun evolve over the years and really wanted one when the new TP9SA came out. It's everything they say about it. BEST bang for the buck !! The trigger is unbelievable ! Yes there are a good lot of great guns out there, but the TP9SA is a ##### of a buy. I have really slowed down shooting my other 9's because of this gun. GO GET IT !!

I found it had a better grip than any of the other polymers, trigger also better than any factory, mags very solid. Only thing I didn't like and i'm very fussy is the slide and frame don't line up, 1/4" ballpark difference, purely cosmetic and personal preference. My CZ/Tango mag pouches worked with the Canik mags.

6-7 Glocks, M&P, HK P30L, Ruger SR, Taurus forget the model, Arsenal, Springfield XD....probably some other strikers i'm forgetting.
Anyway sure if you spend over $1,000 plus taxes with the dollar as it sits than there's better guns. For the money I think the Canik is great.

fair enough, the reviewers like them, other options sig p250 $500ish, walther ppx 499$. I guess it is what feels good and what you can hit with.

You must be reading my mind. I have considered those very pistols but they lack the amazing trigger everyone seems to rave about on the tp9sa. However, the ppx trigger is supposed to be pretty good too from what I've read.

Yes p250 is double action Only, but I guess they are smooth, I am still thinking girsan mc 28, but the one I dry fired at a dealer had a little click near the start of the trigger take up??? It was different, but I am going to try it again. I want to like that pistol. Maybe I was just drawn to it s looks from the start?
