So I'm planning my purchase for the year. A sxs for the duck blind is high on my priority list. I looked through most of the dealers and doesn't look like anyone is selling CZ shotguns. Anyone know where I can look online (ideally fondle in person) so I can price out the damage now.

Any other suggestions for a moderately price sxs would also be appreciated. This gun would only be used for hunting as i have a safe full of brownings for the range.

Any major fubars from any of you owners? As it will be mostly a hunting gun, I'm looking at no more than 2-300 rds a year, and can't justify spending more on a gun....you know how it is. Leases, decoys, and gas.

CZ Shotguns

I owned a 20ga O/U and I hunt with a couple of guys that own sxs CZs. They are well made guns, and are in the $950 range. My O/U was a single selective trigger and the sxs CZs are double triggers. Shoots 2-3/4 and 3".

I recently purchased a Baikal 12ga sxs from Trade Ex. It's a very nice shotgun and is choked tight Mod/tight Full with a 2-3/4 chamber. Double triggers, and other nice features. The Baikal sxs would be a very good blind gun and can be carried although mine weighs 7.5 lbs. This gun will last a very long time because it's built like a tank. ...wait for it ...wait for it $270 tax in delivered to my door from Montreal to Calgary. I found 3 hunting loads; 2 in 6 and 1 in 5 which pattern very well. I would shoot steel in my Baikal without worrying too much. But with the savings on the gun one could shoot bismuth.

I would recommend the CZ Bobwhite (sxs with DTs). FYI, the model is equipped with extractors though and a feature that may not meet your personal criteria in a shotgun for duck hunting.

However, you may find it very informative/beneficial to read up on a detailed review on that particular model done by Sharptail and Straightshooter a while back.

CZ (read Huglu, Turkish) shotguns have come a long way from a perspective of quality control - suggest please refer to the Huglu Forum @ ShotgunWorld dot com for more info.

Personally, I've owned/used the Bobwhites in 4 different gauges (12-28) since 2005/2006. Haven't experienced any problems so far.

Needless to mention, CZ shotguns have been primarily designed as field guns (exception - a sporting model also currently being offered) and will not sustain any form of heavy duty use at the range.
