any current sks or parts production?

no im good for parts. i noticed a bit of corrosion on the gas tube and piston last time i had it apart.... which got me thinking about someday needing parts....

i see theres a spot in van sellin parts...

but i was wondering if anything is being produced today, anywhere in the world

Somebody was hawking an aftermarket gas tube. I've heard they can have fitment problems though. Hard to turn a profit turning out spare parts for a $200 and under rifle I'd think. Same way it costs more to have your $149 pushmower fixed rather than just buy another.

can i get it at CT?
walmart?

Quite possibly. Depends on how good their shooting department is I guess. Surely one of the sponsors will sell you something if you can't find it local. I buy the G96 at WSS usually. You'll still likely need to use something stronger once in a while though. The CLP's don't seem to remove heavy copper fouling and the like all that well.

My gas tubes okay. The corrosion on it and the piston came off.

I spray remmington bright bore into it, pull a bore snake through it, and cram paper towel into the large end, twist it and pull it back out, then spray oil in it. The piston gets bright bore, then wiped off with paper towel, then wiped down with oil.

Is that a decent process?

I don't want to punch the pin out for fear I might wreck something or not be able to get it back, so I just spray oil on the underneath of the tube and hope it gets on the metal under the wood.
