Any CZ 512 22WMR owner out there?

I've never owned one, but if I was in the market for a 22 WMR semi auto, that is the best choice.Ruger stopped making semi's in 22 mag, and the 597 is not very good either. All the CZ rifles I have owned have been fantastic, and I'm sure the 512 is no exception.

Thanks for your input. I own CZ rifles and as you said they are great shooters. I haven't tried .22 but I think I'll go for it. Cheers

I own a CZ 512 American in 22 magnum. I'm impressed by it's built quality, it's precision and it's fire power. It shoots everything I feed it. Never had any fail to fire but I don't shoot it much. Why ? To me, the mass in action while shooting rapid shots in semi-automatic increases the perceived recoils so much so that my Nikon scope mounted on CZ bases keeps creeping foward... I have thighten the bases a couple times to no avail yet. To stop that, I was advised to use tape on the rail and/or locktight on the bases screws. As of yet, I did neither.

I also have a Ruger American Rimfire Predator also in 22 WMR wearing a Vortex scope which bases I never had to tighten. As my Ruger shoots the very same cartidges as the CZ 512, I do believe the action or the lack of an efficent buffer is the culprit. I have not questionned CZ or anybody about that. If anybody has better answers, I would be happy to read them.

Meanwhile, I'm looking to buy a newer 512 in 22 LR...

I have a CZ 512 carbine in .22 WMR. Love the gun, never had a failure of any kind. I ordered Tally CZ rings from prophet river and it's as solid as can be. Definitely one of my favorite guns.
