I just bought one! :D It's a Mark XII in .44 Magnum. I am looking forward to trying this baby out with some of my jacketed bullet handloads.

Does anyone here know if it's practical to load the 300 grain JSP's for this gun? What I am wondering is this...does the length of these bullets make it difficult to get a cartridge OAL that will cycle in the DE while still having the bullet seated out far enough to get enough propellant in there for good velocities?

Jeff, if you take about 0.5 seconds to actually read my post you will notice that I wrote about using a HORNADY bullet, not a Speer Bullet.

757 - Ah yes, that is where you mention the "HORNADY" bullet...Right. In fact, I was too busy looking at your avatar to actually read your post. I am terribly sorry to have asked a question that you had already answered. Please accept my sincere apology.

hey don't apologize to him, he was probably giggling like a school girl when he responded to your post.
when it comes to .44 info 757 is a damn good source.

OK Slavex, I was really worried there for awhile...but I'm OK now. :D

I should have my DE by early next week - guess I'll be loading some forty-four this weekend.

Jeff.

if you get some hornadey lever evolution ammo and use the brass from it you might be okay. its really nice brass for loading and its a bit shorter then the normal .44. also load hot. if you dont use enough of a charge the gun wont work right.

Wow, nice Necropost. I was in the 9th grade when this thread was originally posted...

This is why CGN needs an "old thread" feature to stop people from posting pointless replies to threads that date from when Pluto was still a planet.
