Any Desert Eagle owners here?

I just bought one! It's a Mark XII in .44 Magnum. I am looking forward to trying this baby out with some of my jacketed bullet handloads.

Does anyone here know if it's practical to load the 300 grain JSP's for this gun? What I am wondering is this...does the length of these bullets make it difficult to get a cartridge OAL that will cycle in the DE while still having the bullet seated out far enough to get enough propellant in there for good velocities?

I have a .50 and 757Fixer has a .44

I tried 300's in the past and they worked fine. You have to crimp at the front cannelure for the desert eagle. The load I shot was 300 gr. Hornady XTP and 19.5 gr. of H110.

if you get some hornadey lever evolution ammo and use the brass from it you might be okay. its really nice brass for loading and its a bit shorter then the normal .44. also load hot. if you dont use enough of a charge the gun wont work right.
