Any differences in the SG542 between importers?

From what I gather no, parts and mags are inter changeable. however ive only handled one a few times at a Canadian tire and don't recall which type it was.

He is talking about the ERE and Tactical Import versions of the 540 series. Not the 540 famae vs 550 swiss series.

Not sure where you got 550 from...... I've handled the ERE SG-542 ( I went back and looked at it again) gun at my local Canadian.

Answers are below:

1) Yes mags are proprietary. No chance for milsur mags to our knowledge.
Yes, ERE mags are compatible.

2) Warranty is 1 year, servicing is done in-house

3) We can provide any parts in case of breakage, but don't offer spare parts

Not to Hijack the thread but anyone with a SG-542 with the rail running a red dot?

If so how's the cheek weld?

Which stock are you using?

I would extend that to the FAMAE 542's are FAMAe 542's as well. From from I've heard they all came from the same assembly line, ERE Systems simply had a FRT number unique to their branded version which came out far ahead of TI's.
This is why they were first to market by almost a year (sorry can't remember the exact time difference, may have exaggerated by a few months on this.
Bottom line they all came in as the same rifle with nitrided barrels, black or green furniture (depending on what and how much of each they ordered) and two magazines, whoever brought them in. ERE Systems version just had some "bonus" white lettering on the side that can easily be painted over with black if someone was so inclined.

Side note, when I popped over to ERE Systems site, it looks like they are starting to supply some extra accessories and mags now for the FAMAE, although the mags are only for the SG-542, FAMAE After Market Accessories.
