there's availability in Canada.

20" barrel makes it heavier, and doesn't change the fact that it's restricted, but other than that?

other than Colt isn't very keen with dealing with Canadian civilian sales, however various Colts have on occasions manage to trickle into Canada, they are rare and priced accordingly.

Know what you mean about Ct's interest in selling to us. Any other technical thoughts on this model?

Colt's are uncommon and pricey because they use Distributors for their rifles, instead of dealerships. Too many middle men, plus export fees makes for expensive rifles. Pretty much the only thing keeping the brand going in Canada is the reputation for quality.

That and the fact that they have no problem selling every last one they make at home. That means the downside is that we can't get them.

99% of the firearms in this country come through distributors.

In fact, I believe that the majority of Colt rifles coming in to Canada are via third party import by dealers, they know the guns are coveted and hard to come by and price them accordingly.

True, however, I'm not aware of any Colt distributors operating in Canada. This is probably the main problem for Colt. I wonder if Colt Canada has anything to do with this?

I was under the impression that Colt Canada was barred from making civvy sales in Canada as a condition of its gov contracts.

One beef that I have about the Colt MT6700 is barrel twist rate being 1:9, I would much rather see 1:8 or 1:7 so that I could use some of the heavier bullet weights available on the market. Also, the MT6700 does not come threaded and to do so after the fact does affect the resale price of the rifle. :(

That being said, I love shooting mine. The trigger is probably the best of any rifle I've owned. :)

Well... at least the bore is NOT chrome lined so accuracy will be great! My 6601C is the same gun BUT with a compensator and 1/7 twist and shoots 1.5" groups with CHEAP 55 grain bulk ammo. Plus it's even more accurate with the heavier stuff.
Just stick with the 55 grain stuff and you'll be fine!

Is the rifle new?
