Just wondering, they dont seem common, but are they available if one were to look hard enough?

There are a few kicking around in Canada. If memory serves me right most of them are the Chinese NDM series. I have also seen a couple of the Drag "wannabe's", the Romaks. Sadly, they are all 12(5) prohibs now and make for fancy paperweights and wall decorations.

One of the board members here has a Romanian Druganov... was going to use it in Service Rifle competition until the Canadian Department of Pedantic Rules made them all safe queens.

I wish a company like CZ would produce a variant that use a different mecanism and ergonomics like the SVD Dragunov...

That would be awesome!

So are all Dragunov's prohib? or just a certain model/variant

edit, thanks for the move, wanst sure where to post it

If memory serves me right when sks made its debut in and around 110.00 years back Drags were going for 250.00 or so wish i would have bought one.

why would they be prohibited ? u could always make a sks look like one thats what i think ill do

i dont know, maybe i misread something. there soom to be too many things prohib/restricted for no reason beyong the type of gun it is

anyone know for sure? Johonone?

right from the horse's mouth:
The Romak-3 is a prohibited firearm. The Criminal Code, s. 84, Former Prohibited Weapons Order, No. 13 classes the Romak-3 as a variant of the Dragunov which is a prohibited weapon.

J MIDDY;

I bpught a lot SVDs over the years, even brought some to Canada, but NEVER saw them at $250. AT least not for Russian ones.
