Any Druganov's around?

The Valmet hunter goes for around $3k in the used market I have yet to see a Valmet 78 for sale so can't really comment on how much it worth.

However, anyone willing to drop some money for one might consider import one from the States.

I remember several sponsor dealer here willing to do all importation paper work for a nominal fee.

Just another option to think about.

Any 12.5 dragunov's for sale?

Here ya go...having had SVD's and Romaks and even an NDM...this is far better...the Valmet M78/83S

It has a heavier barrel, uses NATO 7.62 AND is non-restricted. The only thing I'm missing is the proper optic and bipod.

Enjoy...

Why would anybody spend 3K for a Valmet Hunter when you can get this beauty for under 1 K?

Under 1k!? I doubt it.

-SVT-40 : let' say 500
-POSP scope and rail : ~ 300
-Dragunov butstock: ~ 150
+Flash hider, dragunov mag and a lot of gunsmithing hours if you'r not able to do it yourself.

let's ask BBQ around how much he spent.

I would say you would be looking at roughly 20-25 hours of machining and woodwork for sombody with access to the right tools and proper skillset. That is not including any of the setbacks that would plague a prototype model. You are looking at either alot of time or alot of money if you want somthing as nice as BBQ's SVT-40 / Dragunov. I remember when that was first shown, and it was quite neat.

I downloaded the pictures and had a closer look in order to get a better idea of the work.

One thing which made me suspicious is that the finish on the edges of the butt stock where it meets the metal parts is, ahem, not very good. Why would that be, if the rest looks so good in finish?

Maybe, this is actually not a real rifle?

Or maybe parts from an airsoft rifle called King Arms SVD Dragunov Sniper were used.

Especially have a look at the magazine and compare it to the real one.

Maybe we could see some stripped off pics?

The rifle above is a SVT40, with a Romak PSL magazine, custom steel cover the bottom and sides of the receiver, a PSL stock, custom front wood, a AK47 receiver cover (trimmed for length), POSP side mount scope and a FAL flash hider worked into the standard front muzzle brake.

Where can I get those parts?
