Way back in the day (I was in the U.S. Army), I was saw a demonstration firing of a 105mm beehive round, and besides the rather interesting effects on a bazillion balloons staked out for targets out to 100m or so, the breech recoiled farther than I'd ever seen on one of those. I was talking to one of the crew, and he said that that was at charge 8 to get those little darts moving fast enough, and cost 2 EFC rounds in tube life.
