Just wondering if any members happen to own one that can post their experience with it? Seems like a solid handgun based on reviews etc. Looking for something different than the standard glock all my friends own, and for $800 it seems like good deal. I especially like the customization with the back straps and side grips.

And I've been good this year, Santa owes me! ;-)

Had the vp9...very nicely put together, shot like you know it should...was a nice quality pistol...personally found it a little meh...but then I regret selling them..would like it for nearer 700$ personally...depends on condition and how many mags....oh...you will really like it...

Thanks for the response Import. The one I'm looking at is new from Firearms Outlet Canada with 2 mags which seem to be one of the best prices for a new SFP9

I like mine, one thing I don't like is that I find the slide release almost flush with the frame and difficult to release the slide. I find the recoil to be more snappy than my P30l but it's a lot lighter

Recoil is similar to p30l slightly snappier than usp9. All of them are very managable. Bore axis is marginally lower than p30.

It has the best trigger of poly hk handguns. Crisp light with short reset.

Reliability. I only have 1000 rounds between the two sfp9(800 through the first one i bought new, 200 through the second one i bought used wirh allefedly 500 rounds before I got it.)and it has been flawless. But really that's a very small amount of ammo so take that part for what it is.

My usps and p30l combined have well over 10,000 rounds and they have been flawless albeit the p30l did not like barnaul steel case ammo. I really see no rsason why the sfp9 can't do it but time will tell.

Lots of accessories available for it for a hk product. But mags are very expensive.

Thanks for the responses, much appreciated.

And you weren't kidding r34skyline, The same place that has the SFP9 on sale for $800 lists the mags for $90 each!! Jesus, are they gold plated?!? lol

Reckon they’re not the only company to fleece people on mags...like to have 6 mags for every pistol..can get quite pricey..

I like mine. It doesn't feel nearly as smooth or robust as my p226 but that's probably because of the plastic bits.

Recoil is fairly snappy, as skyline says. My biggest beef is with the paddle mag release. I don't find it as intuitive as a button, it makes it harder to get a trigger lock on, and it tends to get activated when I holster the gun.

Mags are definitely expensive and harder to find than most.

I'd buy it again though, although I might check out the Walther PPQ as well.

Irunguns might be able to source you the mags for less.

I'm the opposite i find the paddles way more intuitive over button mag release.

It’s a decent gun and have a friend that shoots one in IPSC, 3 Gun and CQB and he seems to really like his.

When I was looking to buy a striker fired gun came down to either the HK SFP9 or the Walther PPQ M2 5”. Liked the grips slightly better on the Hk for my big hands but ultimately went with the PPQ for the superior trigger and slightly longer 5” barrel and added the plus 2 extensions on the Ppq mags to resolve my big hands grip issue.

Have no regrets with my choice of the PPQ and would make the same call again if I had to, except i’d choose the PPQ Match now for the Production optics potential if I ever decide to go that route.

Suggest you see if you can try both before buying and buy the one that works best for your needs.

I've handled a few in stores and really like them. However I'm stuck between a steel framed Jericho and the sfp9. I wanted to add a poly framed striker fire pistol but I love steel
Of all the poly guns I like the look and feel of the sfp9 the most

Very good trigger. Walther PPQ wins because of a better trigger feel and reset. Better than the Glock trigger out of the box. I kind of prefer the P320 trigger, but just slightly. XDM trigger is softer but has longer pre and post travel. Don't like the paddle mag release. Be careful when using it in competition as the RSO may think your finger is in the trigger as you're changing mags. My thumb can't reach the paddle, so I have to use my trigger finger instead. Needs grip tape in my opinion. Grip surface is too slippery on its own. Magazines are ridiculously expensive. Hard to find parts. That "wing" on the rear cocking serrations is a gimmick in my opinion. Good gun for a good price. Good alternative to a Glock.

Made in the same factory as the Walther PPQ.

Go to a store that has both, and hold them both, then you'll be happy with your choice.

I'm with you that I don't want to have what everyone else has, and HK/Walther's build quality is far above the other brands, which you can only really see when they're all lined up in front of you.

Thanks for all your responses, I ended up buying one and will get it in the new year.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, I wish you nothing but good health and happiness to you and yours. Cheers!
